Last month we waved a sad goodbye to our lovely Registered Manager, Sue Lamb. Sue has been part of the fixtures and fittings here at Highgrove for far too many years to remember. Sue has wanted to scale her work down for some time, since becoming a Grandmother a couple of years ago, and is stepping back to jointly manage our smaller, former sister home, Heaton House.
Sue’s reputation for fastidiousness and detail is something she continued right through to her handover to our new manager Louise, spending 3 months making sure everything was in place for when she left. Louise has now taken on the mantle saying, “It’s sad to see Sue leave us but she really could not have done more to ensure that everything has been passed on
properly. Although we will miss her a great deal, I am really looking forward to managing Highgrove House for the residents and making sure that each day is interesting, warm and happy for everyone.”
We have lots of activities planned in the run up to Christmas now, with special festive visits and food, crafting and musical entertainment all happening over the coming few weeks. We’ll all be covered in tinsel and glitter before you know it!
Don’t forget that we also offer a Day Care option here at Highgrove House. This can be extremely important at this time of year. The days get darker and colder and it can be easy to begin feeling lonely. Just one day a fortnight spent with friends, taking part in stimulating activities, drinking endless tea and coffee and eating home-cooked hot meals could really make the difference to your loved one. They’re welcome to come and try us out too. Just call to make an appointment.
